SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of the Outside Part Sale position is to establish and maintain strong customer relationships with existing and new customers and to increase sales and profit.

Essential Functions:

  • Increase sales and gross profit
  • Makes regular calls to established accounts at appropriate intervals
  • Identifies and qualifies new accounts
  • Goes above and beyond in providing prompt and courteous service to customers
  • Coordinates service sales with service sales people.
  • Follows up on parts orders to ensure that customers have been served exceptionally
  • Stays up to date on all vendor products, merchandising programs, dealership parts order, inventory and company credit
  • Works within the budget for travel and entertainment completing all reporting tasks
  • Acts as a public relations liaison for the company and maintains a professional manner and appearance
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the parts manager

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred or three plus years of successful outside sales experience including developing relationships and closing sales.
  • Must have a working knowledge of medium and heavy duty truck parts
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to obtain a DOT medical card (CDL is not required.)
  • A passion for and working knowledge of medium and heavy duty truck parts

Employment Characteristics:                                                                                

Will need to be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization that may involve the use of computer programs such as PowerPoint.
