Outpatient Mental Health Professional

Job Description:

Program Summary: St. David’s Center specializes in early childhood mental health and serves children and families with developmental delays and disabilities, physical challenges, medical complications, attention deficit disorders and emotional/behavioral disturbances. Our Mental Health Services integrate with all the programs offered at St. David’s Center so that we can provide each family with the most comprehensive support.

Position Overview: The Outpatient Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing psychotherapy to children and families in our outpatient clinic. Therapists work closely with other professionals to provide families with services that are consistent with the goals of the program and mission of the organization. Therapeutic and consultative services are relationship-based and are informed by theories of individual, group, and institutional development as well as infant and early childhood mental health.

In addition to providing psychotherapy, our Outpatient Mental Health Professionals may also be responsible for providing mental health consultation to early childhood providers, supervisors and systems working with the child and family.

Schedule: 30 hours per week, M-F.

Pay: DOQ. This position is benefits eligible!
 
Qualifications
Required:
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology
  • Full licensure/credentialing i.e. LICSW, LMFT, or LPCC
  • Ability to achieve and maintain status of “not disqualified” upon completion of provider verification
  • Ability to be credentialed without restrictions by all insurance companies
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record
  • Good clinical and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and insurance billing
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Ability to partner with families and community providers
  • Ability to engage in program outreach activities and to maintain high level of professionalism
  • Knowledge of: Family Systems, Child Development, Developmental Psychopathology, Attachment Theory, Developmental Disabilities, Child Abuse, Neglect and Trauma, DC:0-5 diagnostic categories
  • Knowledge of school readiness issues and strategies for supporting families at risk
Preferred:
  • 3-5 Years post-master’s experience with clinical experience working with young children and families
