Position Summary
Children's Minnesota is hiring Application Leaders to support the Epic Clinical Implementation for Pediatric Service Excellence (ECLIPSE) project. These roles are crucial for both initial implementation and long-term support of our new EHR. We are looking to staff these roles with experienced IT professionals and operational experts.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager for our "Epic Application - Ancillary" team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of Epic Ancillary applications. This includes solutions like Willow, Beaker, Cupid, Radiant, Lumens, etc. The Manager will collaborate closely with operational division leadership and staff, partnering with Informatics to create integrated implementation plans.
The Epic Application Manager's role is to plan, coordinate, and manage all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of clinical, revenue, and other software applications. The Manager is also responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications. This role collaborates closely with operational division leadership and staff. The Manager partners with Informatics to create integrated implementation plans. Provides appropriate system expertise in system selection and acquisition processes. Partners with leaders to create systems strategic plans and roadmaps.
Responsible for identifying project management requirements and direction, may lead projects.
The manager provides individual contact with team members to provide consistent direction, mentoring, and professional development. Offers feedback on performance through the year, and also during the annual review process. The manager is accountable for hiring, terminating and supporting employees as well as temporary contractors.
License/Certification/Registration:
*Epic certification(s) are required and are unique for each position. All relevant, required certification program(s) should begin no later than one month after the employee's start date. Once the certification program has commenced, employees must obtain their certification(s) within three months. Relevant certification must be maintained ongoing.
Education:
*Bachelor's degree in a related area. Equivalent experience in a related area may substitute degree.
Experience:
*5+ years experience in related IT field.
*5+ years Management/supervisory experience leading an applications team required.
*Experience with healthcare clinical/revenue//EHR software applications required.
*Project management experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*Experience with clinical healthcare/EMR/Revenue software applications.
*Demonstrated ability to manage a team and prioritize multiple assignments, tasks and projects and consistently meet deadlines.
*Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work schedules and projects.
*Ability to effectively lead through changing priorities.
*Ability to take responsibility and accountability.
*Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with physicians, nurses and various other Children's personnel.
*Strong written and verbal and presentation skills to effectively converse with individuals of different levels of business and technical knowledge. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Ability to demonstrate user needs against current system capabilities and propose valid solutions. Aptitude for learning new software tools and products.
*Demonstrated effectiveness in leadership, management, planning, estimating, and organizational skills.
The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
