GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

To succeed in a fully collaborated Drafting and Engineering department, all the employees - regardless of division - need to be able to expect a similar workflow. This position would partner with other members of the Operations Technology group in getting the D&E department on the same foundation of knowledge to better allow cross divisional relationships and resource management. They would also be responsible for the creation and maintaining of any documentation deemed valuable for the engineering department including corporate connection standards and design guides.

Salary range $87,000-$110,000 a year. Based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Spearhead the development and maintaining of corporate standards Develop and maintain instructional documents for the engineering departmentDefine a unified way of analyzing various engineering encounters (e.g. ICC 500 lateral, composite mechanics, etc.) and communicate those methodologies to the engineering subdivisionHelp develop and maintain a continuous education method for design engineersPartner with the technical trainer to make sure all Drafting and Engineering personnel are operating under similar workflows and expectations as defined by divisional D&E heads.
The Engineer Trainer will report directly to the Director of Technology Integration

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Experience in an array of engineering design softwares with the ability to learn others (e.g. Eriksson, Bentley)Experience in the drafting CAD software: RevitCommunicate well with others both remotely and in personAbility to work individually and collaboratively with teammatesExcellent technical writing skills Strong knowledge of the precast concrete industryAbility to multi-task and able to work on more than one project at onceBackground in other CAD softwares (e.g. Tekla, Solidworks, etc.)Experience in finite design softwarePossession of a valid driver's license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle. 4 year degree in engineering3+ years of precast experienceProfessional Engineering licensure
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for typing, filing, and using office equipment.Visual acuity and ability to read small print.Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others.Ability to lift and move office supplies and equipment. Mobility and ability to move around the office as needed.
