Job Summary

This position is part-time and expected to work twenty (20) hours per week, Monday through Friday, and time of day is flexible between the hours of 8:00AM - 4:30PM.

Minnesota State Services for the Blind (SSB) has been serving blind, low-vision, and Deafblind Minnesotans since 1923. It does so with a staff of dedicated personnel, skilled volunteers, an active State Rehabilitation Council for the Blind, and a host of community partners. This position serves as a support to Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) techs, counselors, and other staff in the Workforce Development Unit (WFD) and Senior Services Unit (SSU) of State Services for the Blind (SSB).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Monitoring the invoice mailbox, forwarding the emails to the appropriate staff persons, and prompting staff to complete initiation of the invoices to be paid Communicating with vendors as needed to receive invoices and reports for payment processing Verifying the accuracy of information (i.e., names, dates, addresses, amount) on invoices and the corresponding authorizations
This position will be based out of the St. Paul office.

This position is telework eligible. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment. Please note, the telework policy could change with notice based on business needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Skill in customer service sufficient to provide prompt and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence. Skill in typing/keyboarding, using Microsoft Word or equivalent software, sufficient to produce documents such as emails and other correspondence in an efficient and timely manner. Skill in accounting sufficient to review, analyze and verify financial records, calculate monthly fees, and prepare financial summaries and reports. Skill in customer service sufficient to answer questions and advise customers of program policies, procedures, and regulations. Skill in math sufficient to calculate, review and reconcile financial data and balance accounts. Knowledge of communications sufficient to write, prepare, and edit materials, using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence construction.
Preferred Qualifications
Office administrative support experience. Experience working with the State of Minnesota and or/or the StateWide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) financial system. Experience providing services to people who are Blind, Low Vision, and DeafBlind. Our employees are dedicated to ensuring cultural responsiveness.
