Diversity Minnesota Newsletter
Volume: 2 Number: 11
November, 2009
Hello!

DiversityMinnesota.com and MINNESOTAJOBS.COM are embracing social media as another way to attract educated professionals to our Web sites. Many of our Diversity Minnesota sponsors have expressed an interest in reaching out to highly skilled people from many cultures in Minnesota. Our involvement in social media is a great way to do this. Our efforts include various Twitter accounts targeting specific job categories, as well as various LinkedIn groups like Diversity in Minnesota and MINNESOTAJOBS.COM. We manage and actively participate in many other LinkedIn groups as well. To further capitalize on the social media trend we have created FaceBook and MySpace pages and are actively participating in other pages applicable to our field. Yet another way we help people stay connected is with our active blogs and many other Internet channels. Our social media efforts are just one of many strategies to keep in front and engaged in our community to help our partner organizations and sponsors connect.

Warmest Regards,
Colette

Is Diversity in the Workplace Still a Priority?

Does it still have the same level of importance in this economic time?It should! And, possibly, it might even be more important than it once was.

If you are trying to establish your product or service in new markets, new countries, specific cultures, or are marketing to specific age groups, etc., having a diverse base of employees and suppliers can significantly contribute to faster execution and ultimately help in achieving your goals.
