When hiring diverse candidates, it's worth the extra effort to understand where they are coming from. After all, you want someone that will be best for the job - not someone that answers questions the way you expect them to. Mannerisms can have significant meanings for different groups of people. Understanding them can help get to the real truth while interviewing candidates. Lila Kelly has developed some great videos on situations job seekers have experienced during interviewing. She also has some books on the subject. Visit DiversityMinnesota.com to check out the videos and for a link to Lila's Web site. Also, scroll down to check out an interesting article we found on job intervewing for job seekers.
