About Children's Minnesota
Children's Minnesota has a long-standing history of providing mental health services for children in our outpatient clinics and Emergency Departments.The new inpatient mental health center at Children's Minnesota will be located on our St. Paul hospital campus. This 22-bed unit will care for both children and adolescents with significant mental, behavioral, or emotional challenges requiring hospital level care. Annually, Children's MN cares for over 2,200 children with a primary reason for visit related to a mental health concern in our two emergency departments, and completes 23,000+ outpatient visits in our behavioral health clinics. The addition of an inpatient mental health unit will complement other new service offerings and the expansion of our mental health care continuum.
Position Summary
Coordinates and provides family-centered nursing care to infants, children and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members.
May float outside the inpatient mental health unit to support mental health patients throughout the care continuum.
THIS IS AN MNA CONTRACT POSITION.
Education Requirements:
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
* Current Minnesota RN licensure.
* Current BLS certification.
One (1) year pediatric nursing experience in a hospital setting.
* Based upon the unit in which you are applying, additional certification(s) may be required. Department specific required qualifications need to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
