Department Overview
The Accounting, Revenue and, Treasury Management Departments produce monthly financial statements, manage account receivables and account payables, and provide analysis/forecasting of financial data. Major activities include: maintaining financial statements with generally accepted accounting principles, monthly posting of operations performance, reconciling general ledger accounts, fixed asset reporting and capital spending tracking, managing the annual financial audit, completing external requests for information, and reporting structure and system maintenance.
Position Summary
The Supervisor Accounts Payable is to provide direct oversight, management and guidance to the Accounts Payable Staff; provides accounting analysis and internal audit services to accounts payable; serves as assistant administrator for Children's Purchasing Card program. Coordinates department priorities and serve as the point person for escalated or ongoing issues. Supports and ensures department cross training. Explores and surfaces project ideas to improve work processes and department relationship through communication with other department managers. Advance the accounts payable department's performance (quality, customer satisfaction and staff productivity) through process improvement. Develops, maintains and analyzes reports for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the department, enforces department policies and procedures. Conduct in-house payables audit for duplicate payments.

Education:
*Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business administration preferred or equivalent experience. If no Bachelor's degree in relevant field, 7+ years' total accounts payable experience with below minimums required.
Experience:
*5+ years of high-volume accounts payable processing experience
*2+ years of project management experience
*2+ years of staff training and supervision
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*Experience with Microsoft Office with in-depth knowledge of Excel, Excellent interpersonal skills, Supervisory/Team building skills
*Customer-focused: Demonstrated ability to meet the expectations and requirements of both internal and external customers.
*Organization and Delegation: Demonstrated ability to define and organize processes into efficient workflow meeting both customer and department needs. Comfortably assigns projects with tight deadlines. Able to orchestrate multiple activities to accomplish a goal.
*Workforce Engagement: Demonstrated ability to create a climate where people want to do their best. Sensitive to needs of diverse workforce.
*Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to develop and design new and unique ideas. Can look beyond the obvious, probe for all sources for answers, and use logic to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
*Solid base understanding of accounting principles and system upgrades, preferably in PeopleSoft.
