GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

As the Contract Administrator, you will be a critical member of the Contracts team within Wells' Legal department, responsible for negotiating high-impact contracts. You will report to a Manager of Contracting and Risk Management and collaborate closely with legal counsel, business leaders, Sales, and cross-functional teams to oversee the development, review, negotiation, and ongoing refinement of contractual agreements and standard templates.

You will play a central role in establishing a consistent and disciplined approach to contract management, applying standardized language, templates, and processes, and utilizing contract lifecycle automation tools to streamline and optimize workflows. Key to success in this role is a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks while seizing opportunities for optimization. You will resolve contractual challenges and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure that contract outcomes align with Wells' business objectives, all while fostering positive, long-term relationships.

Salary range $52,000-$78,000. Based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Balance business needs, legal protections, and customer experience and consistently drive high-quality contractual outcomes in a timely and efficient manner.Work closely with various stakeholders, legal counsel, and cross-functional teams to develop, negotiate, and manage simple to complex agreements from cradle to grave.Liaise with general contractors and external customers to arrive at balanced agreements.Review contracts, identify and assess potential risks, prepare an addendum, and negotiate the terms to secure favorable outcomes.Assist Sales in reviewing requests for proposals and solicitations and support the response process including but not limited to prequalification, bond and insurance requirements.Drive process improvements and initiatives to track and simplify commercial transactions from beginning to end. Assist in developing and refining contracting documents and processes to improve efficiency and mitigate risks.Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally; seeking support when necessary.Support the implementation, maintenance, and business adoption of a contract lifecycle management system, applying automation and workflows to streamline and enhance the effectiveness of contract review and management process.Maintain and update contract databases and management systems for easy retrieval and tracking of contract statuses.Draft subcontracts to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and project requirements.Provide training and support to the company's departments on commercial transaction processes.Compile and analyze contract related data as requested.Undertake special assignments as required and perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience1+ year of experience in contract management or a related field.Knowledge of the construction industry as well as an understanding of construction related law is a plus.Ability to negotiate agreements that balance business needs with legal safeguards.Persuasive negotiation skills, with a focus on fostering positive relationships with both internal and external partners.Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.Self-motivator with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Forms) and BlueBeam as well as the ability to learn and use proprietary computer systems and databases.Prior project management experience is a plus.Possession of a valid driver's license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
